Kinesiology FAQs

Kinesiology can be a bit mind-boggling to explain… so we thought we’d leave this here to answer your basic questions about this amazing modality.

What is kinesiology?

If you think of your brain as a computer, your beliefs, stories and patterns are the software that runs on that computer, and dictates what you can do and what you will prioritise.

Our computer can get viruses or glitches from many different places, and they stop our software working properly. Kinesiology works to essentially “debug” these viruses (beliefs, stories and patterns that are no longer serving you) so that your software allows you to do more that you want to do.

It helps to stop the roundabout patterns of self-sabotage, low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, over-giving, and other common themes that limit what we get out of life.

How does kinesiology work?

Kinesiologists learn many different techniques to better understand the subconscious and unconscious programming that is occurring on different levels.

By identifying the “templates” and “programmes” that you have running on your computer, they can release and heal “viruses” that are stopping you aligning with the version of yourself that you desire to be.

What should I expect?

If you’ve never had kinesiology before, it can be a pretty strange experience the first time.

Your Kinesiologist will use muscle testing (otherwise called biofeedback) to essentially talk to your subconscious and access your mental, emotional and other planes of existence.

Fran does this by getting you to lay or sit down and uses your bent arm to muscle test.

She places her hand over the outside of your hand and wrist and places gentle pressure to answer questions she has around your health (mental, emotional, physical and spiritual), which is indicated by strength or weakness of your arm.

It sounds pretty crazy, but Fran always does “control” testing, which is the body indicating via biofeedback yes or no.  You will see for yourself how your arm loses strength indicating a no, and this is done without any conscious effort on your behalf.

Your kinesiologist will talk quickly to cover all the information required to balance all areas of your health and body.

Fran utilises several tools when directed to by your own biofeedback.  These tools can include anything from passages from certain books, cards, symbols, light therapy and affirmations to tapping and particular sprays.  She may use several of these things or none of these things, dependent on what you need at that time.

How long does it take for kinesiology to work?

The first session of kinesiology is very comprehensive and acts more as a general balance of all aspects of your health.  Once this balance has been done, lots of interruptive information has been removed and released, allowing for deeper focus on specific areas of your choice.

Three sessions of kinesiology are generally where we see the best results and the most integration, which is why we recommend having three sessions consecutively.

The sessions become more focused and insightful as they progress.

Once you have completed your three initial kinesiology sessions (the Balance) you will be able to have “laser” sessions as required; meaning that when you notice you have triggers or certain problems coming up, you can have a healing around this issue specifically.

Our journey as human beings is to constantly grow and evolve, and as long as you are growing and evolving you will have triggers and situations occur that provide an opportunity to heal and release. So, our opinion is that as long as you are a growing and evolving human being, kinesiology will be helpful to keep you emotionally, spiritually and mentally balanced.

How frequently do I have to come?

Fran actually asks your body that through biofeedback.  It may be fortnightly or monthly or annual visits.  She will only ever recommend what your body is saying is best for you.

Generally, after the “debugging” that occurs in the first three to four sessions, only top ups are required.  These can assist to go deeper on certain triggers that might re-occur, to deal with new triggers that arise or help to shift residual issues and emotions.

How will I feel afterwards?

It’s common to feel either a little drowsy or quite energetic after your sessions.

Staying hydrated is important, and we have tea that can help boost your energy after your sessions if you need it.

Getting adequate sleep is important after your sessions.  It’s like hitting restart on your computer!
